E-Money "Fun" Series - 1st Pump Tournament
by Sean Takeda, Columnist

Team Yella of Southern California        Tombstone Paintball in Corona, California, was the location of E-Money (of I&I Sports) first "Fun" series pump tournament.  This was the first of it's kind pump tourney which allowed players to play with any type of pump gun, just as long as it was powered by a 12-gram C02 cartridge.   As far as loaders and changers, anything goes.  Original stock players such as Broken Arrow, RGS, and Team Yella, stuck with the "true" stock format, using rat attacks, and vertical and stick feed loaders.  Other players were using Viewloaders, multiple C02 changers, etc.  All sorts of guns, ranging from Carter Comps and CCI Phantoms (true stock guns), all the way to modified Budd Orr Snipers and converted Autocockers.

The tournament utilized only the Hyperball field at Tombstone.  Ceremonies opened up with Evan playing the Star Spangled Banner through his megaphone and holding up a miniature American Flag.  When it was done, teams were ready to compete.  Skill levels ranged from Beginner to Advanced.  Some of the Advanced were actually having some problems, becuase they were still used to their Semis and realized that they had to remember to "pump" the gun.  Roughly ten teams battled it out throughout the day which actually was a very pleasant turnout.  Evan trying to keep things "fun" kept the tournament inexpensive, and allowed players to shoot whatever paint they chose.

Sponsors of the tournament included I&I Sports, Nitrokick, Raven Gear, and E-Money Series.  Evan also gave raffle tickets to each of the players, who basically recieved prizes as tickets were called.   Teams who actually placed in the tournament, were given coupons to play in the next E-Money Fun Series.  Here are the final results:

1st Team Broken Arrow
2nd Team Yella
3rd Team Voodoo

Sportsmanship went to Team Smoke, who were playing their first pump tourney
