The CheckIT high riser is about 2 1/4 inches
high. Some people say high risers are a gimmick and don't do anything,
others say they increase your ball per second feed rate and other such
things. I believe they do aid your feeding but do not increase your
BPS feed rate at all. The high riser does however give you a stack
of 6-8 balls, all lined up ready to drop into the breech. The high
riser tube acts like a buffer, it can help compensate for Revolution delay
in getting balls down the tube. This gives you a more consistent
flow of balls into your gun. As for the CIP high riser itself, it
comes in black and silver to match the colors of the original Bushmasters.
I like it cosmetically over the Atomic one because of the grooves, it kind
of resembles an the Angel's Adrenaline high riser. I have both a
red Gem Revolution (newer) which fits it really well and a black standard
Revolution which fits really tight.
Installing the CIP High Riser
The hardest part of installation is removing
the stock ICD feed tube. It's probably got loctite on the threads
so it's going to be difficult. The easiest way is going to be get
a rubber strap or something similar. Then get your vice grips, clamp
down and turn C.C.W. With a little elbow grease you'll break the
loctite seal and the tube will come off
Put a bit of blue loctite on the CIP threads and screw it in place.
Let it sit over night and it should be good and set. I personally
didn't loctite my high riser in place, I just screwed it in as hard as
I could by hand. Just remember to turn your hopper clock wise when
putting it in and out.
