Brass Eagle's Rainmaker - http://www.brasseagle.com

Brass Eagle begins its jump to high-end guns with its new Rainmaker electro-pneumatic semi auto.  At the 1997 World Cup it was used by team Brass Eagle and some other Brass Eagle Sponsored Teams. The Rainmaker includes an internal dual-regulated system that divides the incoming gas pressure through two regulators.   The primary regulator maintains a consistent 450 psi thus allowing for rapid firing without a velocity drop-off. The secondary regulator redirects a small amount of the incoming gas and reduces the pressure to 100 psi. This lower pressure actuates the electronic four-way valve which controls the movement of the bolt and hammer via an air cylinder.  The Rainmaker is powered by 4 "AA" batteries.  Other features include it uses a wgp barrel thread, it is capable of firing14  shots per second!

The Cyber 9000, from Pneuventures

Pneuventures, the company that manufactured the original shocker, has branched off and came out with their new gun, The Cyber 9000. The Cyber 9000 comes in 3 designs, the standard, the golden Cyber 9000 , and the ultimate cyber 9000.  Standard Features on all of  the designs include extremely quiet, highly accurate, uses very low pressure CO2, nitrogen or compressed air, low (or no) recoil,  uses wgp threads, no external moving parts or springs,  hard coat black anodized finish, includes NEW CYBER9000 Super Flow Regulating System either on-gun or remote, 14" tournament barrel, hard coated and black anodized, batteries are included, and one year full warranty, parts and labor. Here are the features of each of the 3 designs:

Standard Series Includes all standard features plus:
-moderately fast fire rate of 6 to 7 shots per second
- has some In Your Face electronics features: game time clock, audible alarm, battery and on/off indicators

Golden Series Includes all standard  features plus:
- fast fire rate of 9 to 10 shots per second
- has ALL In Your Face electronics features

Ultimate Series Includes all standard features plus:
- fast fire rate of 9 to 10 shots per second
- has ALL In Your Face electronics features
- 14" stainless steel barrel
- choice of five finishes
- personalized finishes also available at additional cost

The Shocker Sport Series, from Smart Parts

Smart Parts had introduced its brand new versions of the shocker, the shocker 4 x 4 and the shocker s/f.  The new Shocker Sport 4x4 is faster, smaller, lighter and better looking than the old Shocker.
It still has the accuracy, flat trajectory and extremely low ball breakage due to the low pressure operating system. In addition, they have upgraded the electronics, wiring and grounding to make the Shocker Sport far more reliable.  The Shocker sport s/f includes everything the Shocker 4 x 4 but it can fire in semi automatic mode, three shot burst mode, and fully automatic. There is a tourney cap available that locks the gun in semi-auto mode. The Shocker Sport also uses wgp barrel threads.

** Invitational Northern California (Berkeley Area) Paintball Game

For those of you who are interested in playing paintball the way it "used" to be...all skill levels welcome!

I'm trying to setup a stock paintball game on Sunday, April 26th.  We are shooting for Mare Island, pending on weather conditions, and if it is a little drier.

Stock Classifications :
12 gram C02s as air source
       10-20 round vertical feeds.
       Pump guns only.

I also know that everyone doesn't have a "true" stock gun, so we are inviting basically all "pump" gun players with C02 tanks and loaders.  We would prefer stick feeders, but if you only have a loader, that is fine.  No Semi Auto guns though (no pump).
For more nfo and to be added to the No. Cal Stock group, Please send a response to : stakeda@thempn.com

Hope to see you out there!

For those of you who don't know what "stock" is, I found this article which sums it up pretty good...

"Stock" means playing with pump-action paintguns powered by 12-gram disposable CO2 cartridges and using a horizontal tube feed on the paintgun that holds from 10 to 20 paintballs, in other words using the kind of paintguns that were available when the game was created.  Today there are some very high-quality Stock Class paintguns that adhere to the basic stock format but are made to very high standards, eg. the Phantom Stock and Super Stock and the legendary stock paintguns of Earon Carter.  Or you can still buy the classic Sheridan PGP for about $100; sadly, the original Nel-Spot 007, the paintgun that started it all, is no longer made.  Stock is lots of fun, it's economical, it is a great way to learn to play (you learn to actually aim) and tends to attract a more sportsmanlike breed of player.  But today the majority of new players just want to be paint-spraying machine-gunners with "Losing Sucks" tattooed on their foreheads.  If you can
find a stock game in your area, give it a try, it's worth it!

** Newbies on the field **

As per request from a few paintball players out there who either haven't played paintball, to those who have played it a few times.  It really is kinda hard to make it out there your first attempt at it, but I want to try and give some insight on what to bring and expect your first couple of times out so that you maximize your fun, and minimize your fears.

1. I guess the most important thing, is that you want to go with a couple of your good buddies.  Going by yourself might not be too memorable because lets face it, its your first or second time, you probably don't know anybody, and ya might get shot up real good if you are not hanging around people you know from your team.

2. Renting Guns: It would probably be best if you could rent or borrow a gun from somebody you know so that you know what you are getting, and can possibly even practice shoot it before you goto the field.  I'm not, by any means knocking guns that you get at the field.  I'm just possibly suggesting a method which could possibly be a little cheaper and more convenient.  If do however, rent a gun at the field, ask the person whom your are renting it from, how it works, how to clean it should a paintball break, and what to do should a situation arise (i.e. the C02 bottle starts leaking).  Rental guns in most cases operate just fine, just as long as they have a clean barrel, ample C02 supply (not running out).  I
f the gun isn't working right (or doesn't sound right), let them know, after all, you are paying for a working gun, not a broken one.

3. 3-2-1 Game On!  As soon as the game starts, you and your buddies should remain together.  I don't mean that you need to hold hands, or be laying all on top of each other behind a bunker.  Try to stay about 10-15 feet apart.  Further is okay, just try to maintain (at minimum) visible contact.  If you get too far away and run into an ambush, you will get lit up!  Stay to where you guys/gals can help each other out.  Work together as a group!  If somebody starts getting shot at, help him out, remember you guys are keeping each other alive.

4. Take lots of Carbos.  Depending on where you are at (temperature) you usually want to have lots of water and energy food like Bananas, power bars, etc.  The water of course keeps you hydrated, and the Potassium from the Bananas gives you energy for the day.  Just make sure you eat something so you don't pass out.  I don't recommend last night left over Pizza or KFC, it doesn't sit to well when you are on the field.

5. Building up your gear.  If you are planning on being the "weekend warrior", in other words, going out to the field every once in a while and renting equipment, but plan on buying your own equipment, I would suggest buying your items in this order.

- nice comfortable mask (JT, Scott, Leader, ETC.)  This way, you can have nice clean lenses that don't fog up (if you get antifog lenses) and/or are all scratched up.
- ammo pods or belt.  Ya need to have paintballs!
- Camo.  Pants, Shirt, Gloves, etc.
- Gun

This order is also lighter on the wallet so that if you decide that you don't want to play anymore after you have played a few times, you haven't really spent a lot of money, being that the gun in most cases is the most expensive part.

Well, that's about it for this issue.  If you have any specific questions, please send them to me.

~Paintball Chatroom - NEW! ~
*************************************************************************
If your computer can support Java, a friend of mine has an awesome site which he created called the E-Cafe (However, your computer doesn't support Java, you can use CRT or Telnet as well, instructions and the address are on the webpage).  It supports multiple chat room.  He created a room for me called the "Xtreme Paintball Room" which has been designated for Paintball chat.  Unlike ICQ, this chat forum supports actions to make the chats more exciting.  If you want to talk about Paintball or just want to say "hi", stop by the E-Cafe to see who's talking!

Instructions:
- Goto www.pseudoreality.com/e-Cafe/   You can also get to it from the Team Subzero Page at www.jps.net/warlock1/subzero.html.
- You will need to create a login and password.  It will ask you to fill in a small form (which basically asks you a few questions about yourself.)
That's it, you are ready to enter the e-Cafe.  Once you are in, select the "Empty Room" and you are ready to start chatting!  There is an action list.  Simply type a "." in front of the action like ".wave" and you are good to go.

>> Update <<  A few of you have requested a scheduled "time" where everyone can be on.  I was thinking, maybe on Sunday evenings about 5-6pm PST.  I will be on this Sunday, March 15th.  Lets see what happens.

See you there!
Thanks for the room Fred!
