Paintball in Puerto Rico
By Cesar E. Lebron, Columnist

Paintball in Puerto Rico has become very popular during this past year.  Puerto Rico, a beautiful Island in the Caribbean, has been witness of the rapid grow of the sport.  All over the Island from North to South, East and West, you will find paintball fields, as well as stores around the Island,  filled with a large selection of paintball stuff.  Thanks to the opening of these fields, the sport is becoming one of the youth favorites.  Almost everyone who plays it get’s hooked.  Lately I’ve been seeing girls playing it too.

Here you can find the type of field you want, ranging from very good Sup’ Air fields, to jungle like fields,  thanks in part to the topography of the Island.  One of my favorite fields on the Island, is the World of Gotcha Paintball Field, which consists of a big hyperball and a well made Sup’ Air field.  The field is located in the North part of the Island in the town of Carolina, and it is 10 minutes away from the International Airport.  Another field, the Paintball Connection Field in the town of Caguas, offers good speedball and the prices are very reasonable.  They will be holding the Second Amateur Speedball Tournament on May 30, 1999.

All the fields in the Island are prepared for renting markers, and all the basics anyone needs to be part of one of the fastest growing sports.  So, if you are planning a vacation to the sunny beaches of Puerto Rico, don’t forget to bring your paintball marker and be ready for the best paintball vacation you will have!
