Final League
Gauteng Paintball League
Pretoria, South Africa
11th October 1998

On the 11th October, the final league game for The Gauteng Paintball League was held at Paintball Village in Centurion, Pretoria.  The final league games were as promised, AWESOME. They were held on a newly created Super Airball field. For most, it was the first time they had ever seen least of all played. Teams that attended were Animals, Demons, Venom, Posse, Rage, Slayers, Ravens and Genocide.  All teams play 5-man division.

Games were played every 10 minutes with a total of 28 games scheduled for the day. Play started at 8:30 sharp. Spirits were high, as the first teams took to the field; Team Demons verse Team Venom. The game lasted only a few minutes, with team venom getting a hiding. (We had to do something very quickly to recover). As games progressed, scores were awarded i.e. 2 points per ilimination, 5 points for flag grab, and 10 points for flag hang.

Final placing for the day was as follows:

1st Animals with 169 points
2nd Rage with 148 points
3rd Venom with 117 points
4th Posse with 115 points.
5th Demons with 103 points
6th Ravens with 98 points
7th Slayers with 75 points
8th Genocide with 38 points

Prizes were given out for the day, with final placing for the year being given out at the end. Placing for the year in "A" League were as follows:
1st Animals
2nd Posse
3rd Rage
4th Venom (Venom also took 1st place in the "B" league with a total of 291 points)

Thanks go out to the organizers of a fantastic day. Great fun was had by all (especially at the party afterwards).  Next year we hope that the league will be as much a success as this years was.
Enjoy some of the photo's from the day.
