Camoflage in Paintball

Here is a controversial subject I think affects us all. Camoflauge in the sport of paintball.  Some say we don't need it, others think it is an integral part of the game.  Which way do I fall?  To me I think the situation will provide the answers.  If you are in an outdoor game, I'm all for it.  As a matter of fact I wear camo while playing outside.  But if you are playing indoors, I do not see the need.  By all means wear it if you like but I don't.

Those who say camo in paintball is bad are basically of the type of people who are uninformed and think paintball is a way for men to practice shooting at each other.  It is not.  It is a sport in which anyone, male, female, old, young can go out for a day and have a good time.  Whether or not you hit someone doesn't make a difference.  You learn teamwork and communication. For the youger players this is vital as you grow up.  For the older players, a little refresher doesn't hurt.  But people who play aren't there for the express purpose of "killing", most rec players are there for the fun, to get away from a busy life for a few hours.  And you know what it works.

Those who wear camo see it's effectiveness while playing outdoors.  I play in Florida, most places down here have woods settings with a lot of low plants/shrubs.  Camo helps a lot, you can lay down in some thick stuff and never be seen.  But then again you won't see anyone.  I wear camo to these games.  Some people do not, they prefer to wear short sleeves and the like.  That is their choice, you play what you are comfortable in.  When I am at home in upstate New York.  I play a lot of indoor ball.  Here you will find me in jeans a t-shirt.  Why? you ask. Because camo doesn't help.  If anything I stand out more. Indoors you don't need the camo to break up your profile.  If you are hiding behind a pallet the enemy will see you regardless.

So there is my point of view on camo.  Wear it if you got it.  If not, that is fine too.
